Artificial Streaming PenaltiesUpdated a year ago
Starting April 1, 2024, Spotify has rolled out a robust policy aimed at deterring artificial streaming practices. This new initiative will impose charges on labels and distributors whenever significant instances of artificial streaming are detected on their tracks.
For detailed information on this policy, refer to Spotify's official statement here.
It's crucial to understand that engaging in artificial streaming is against the Terms of Service of JumpWave Group. With Spotify's updated policy, any fees incurred due to artificial streaming will be passed on to you, potentially leading to the removal of your tracks from the platform and suspension of the JumpWave Group Platform and/or services.
How to Safeguard Your Music
To ensure the integrity of your music on streaming platforms, consider the following best practices:
- Avoid Guaranteed Promotion Services: Steer clear of services that promise guaranteed streams, followers, or playlist placements, as they often engage in artificial methods that can jeopardize your account.
- Limit Looping Your Tracks: Refrain from playing your music on repeat for extended periods, and encourage your collaborators and fans to do the same. This practice can trigger flags for artificial streaming.
- Stay Vigilant: Regularly check the streaming analytics available through your Jumpwave Group account and on platforms like Apple Music for Artists and Spotify for Artists. If you detect any suspicious activity, contact [email protected] right away.
- Trust Your Instincts: If an offer or service sounds too good to be true, it likely is. Always exercise caution.
Artificial Streaming Penalties
If Spotify charges JumpWave Group for artificial streaming detected on one or more of your tracks, we will charge this fee to the payment method that we have on file. You will receive an invoice with the line item "Spotify Artificial Streaming Penalty Fee". This transaction will be equivalent to USD $10 for each track that incurs a fee, based on an exchange rate of approximately EUR €10 (about $11.11 USD as of September 23, 2024)
